The University of Toronto Sexual Education and Peer Support Centre is a 100% not-for-profit, volunteer-run student service/student group at the University of Toronto, St. George campus. SEC provides free supplies like condoms, lube and other safer sex products as well as services like confidential, non-judgmental peer sex education support via the phone, one-on-one peer support, library and resource services, and residence and high school talks.

Services

Sex Ed Presentations: 

  • SEC offers free presentations to University of Toronto groups. Their standard presentation covers sex & gender, sexuality, consent & communication, STIs, and birth control.

Safer Sex Supplies: 

Peer Support Counselling: 

  • SEC has peer volunteers available to answer questions students may have about sex, sexuality, sexual health, etc. in a welcoming, non-judgmental, sex-positive environment. They can also help point you to services, clinic, support groups and resources within UofT, the community at large, or online/in print. 
  • Volunteers are available Monday – Friday from 11am – 5pm during the academic year (September – April) except on days the University is closed in Rm 326 of the Student Commons.

Library and Resources 

  • You can access the SEC Library Catalogue here. This contains 800+ books and journals on sex, sexuality, and sexual health literature. Books can be loaned for a 2-week period. 
  • SEC also has available print resources from sexual health organizations that student groups can access free of charge at the SEC office or order in bulk by emailing utsec.information@gmail.com . Bulk print resource request orders will be available for pick-up within 10-14 business days of the request being received.

Events

SEC runs events throughout the school year on topics related to sex and sexuality as well as an annual Sexual Health Awareness Week (SHAW) which is an entire week of presentations and events to promote sexual health
